Help Me Help You Mobile App

Project Overview

Help Me Help You is a mobile app designed to connect friends and family so they can give and get help from one another. It is a free app which helps benefit the community by connecting people on a personal level, mimicking the old "neighbourly" attitude on a digital platform. The app allows the user to post tasks which they need help with, and also allows them to lend a helping hand to people in their network. The app helps to organise events, post private tasks, and give kudos to those who have helped complete a task.

Project Brief

The purpose of the app is to allow users to give and receive help from one another. It interface needed to be friendly, approachable, and fun to use. It was also important that helpers received encouragement so they felt like they were truly helping out and having fun whilst doing so.

Project Innovation/Need

This mobile app utilises the digital space and the idea of social networking in a whole new way, bringing back the "neighbourly" attitude. By being able to provide and receive help from each other, users are able to form more substantial connections with one another. The visual style of the app is based around the universal symbol for help, the hand. The app uses the hand and different hand gestures throughout to create a fun and friendly interface.

Design Challenge

A key design challenge in creating this interface was to ensure users received positive reinforcement for using the app and had fun lending a hand. Users are able to give kudos to those who have helped them with a task through fun and encouraging hand gestures.

User Experience

The friendly nature of the Help Me Help You Mobile App encourages positive actions in the physical world, resulting in stronger relationships and a tight knit community.
